Historical records describe Emperor Quang Trung as having curly hair, a commanding voice like a gong, and eyes as bright as lightning, capable of seeing clearly in the dark. The book “Liệt Truyện” (Biographies) records that Nguyễn Huệ (Emperor Quang Trung’s birth name) possessed extraordinary strength and was exceptionally resourceful and strategically brilliant, with a voice that resonated like a bell and a gaze as sharp as lightning. He was appointed as Long Nhương General at the young age of 26 during the reign of his elder brother Nguyễn Nhạc. With his strategic talent, Emperor Quang Trung was one of the most skilled political leaders with numerous reforms to build the nation, and a brilliant military figure in Vietnamese history, achieving remarkable victories in the East and North: driving out the Siamese army, quelling the rebellion in Bắc Hà, and defeating two hundred thousand Qing invaders, without ever facing defeat.
